I was a Die Hard "Pro Tools" man since AVID bought Digidesign. I decided after a long hard look to Use Steinberg's Nuendo. Very Nice Sound with no muddy artifacts.

 

I still have Pro Tools, Sonar, Logic, and many more programs. I really Like and Appreciate Nuendo now as I can use all the nice Pre-Amps/EQ/Compressor Hardware that I have collected over the years. Very Nice indeed and Nuendo gives Son Set Beach Productions a unique signature quality.

With the emphasis shifting to digital audio platforms and modular configurations, software "plug-ins" are replacing many outboard signal processors. Other than the microphone itself, the microphone preamplifier is the most significant analog device remaining in the signal chain.

1981 to 1984 British Soundcraft - We Combined a 2400 and a 1628 to make the best of Both!

Series 2400 launched to replace the 1624. With 24 track routing it soon becomes the standard in 24-track recording consoles.

The Great thing about British EQ's is the Smooth Bass that only comes from the Brit's.

This particular Board was used on the band Yes "Big Generator" Album.

With the Help of our friends at Creative Labs in Nashville I was able to Up-Grade all Channels.

It took me about 9 months to Clean and Mod all these beautiful British Analog Channels.

I was able to locate and secure Original Burr Brown IC Chips which made these Channels sing sweeter than they ever did originally. You just have to hear it. We are Blessed!

It is a part of History and it is kept in Pristine Shape.

The LA-610 brings UA's legendary vintage "all tube" luxury sound into a modern channel strip format by combining the 610 Mic-Pre/EQ/DI section and a T4 Opto-compressor into a single 2U unit.

The 610-tube preamp, DI, and EQ is from UA's TEC award winning 6176 and is based on the legendary console modules developed by Bill Putnam in the 60's. UA LA-610 Open

Countless classics have been recorded using these preamps, noted for their musical character and warmth.

In collaboration with Dennis Fink, one of the original UREI® analog design engineers, the LA-610 was carefully designed to deliver the essence of the "LA" sound but without the costs of being an exact LA-2A component clone. The LA-610 uses three 12AX7A's, a single 6072A and a single 6AQ5 tube for amplifier warmth and overall tonal balance.

 

After the preamp section, the LA-610 offers a new T4 optical compressor. The electro-optical detector or "T4 cell", is the very heart and soul of the Teletronix LA-2A. The unique combination of electroluminescent panel and photo-resistors inside the T4 cell are the crucial circuit components that give both these compressors their signature sound.

Manley Massive Passive - Tube Equalizer - "The Blue Eyed Lady"

Craig 'HUTCH' Hutchison designed these monsters... The MASSIVE PASSIVE is a two channel, four band equalizer, with additional high pass and low pass filters. "Passive" refers to the tone shaping part of this clever new EQ design not using any active circuitry. Only metal film resistors, film capacitors and hand-wound inductors sculpt the sound, kinda like a Pultec EQ on hyper-steroids. Super-beefy, hugely-high-headroom Manley all-tube make-up gain amplifiers deliver your tunes into the next realm. "Massive".... it's a fitting word for this beast. You'll need to experience this. How does the Massive Passive compare to other high end EQs?

Answer: It probably can't be compared. In fact, it is so different, that perhaps we shouldn't have called it an "equalizer" so that people wouldn't expect that it is comparable. Because the Massive Passive has 3 knobs per band, experienced engineers expect that it would be similar to conventional parametric EQs. However, the "Massivo" is "passive" (hence the name) and because it is a parallel design and because it provides entirely different shelf curves, it is essentially a new breed of tone control. The controls are different in use and the sound is remarkably and refreshingly different. Are comparisons really necessary?
